The intense pulsed light (IPL) targets the fungal cells with infrared light causing them to over heat eventually destroying the cells, this is done without damaging the healthy skin around it. As the fungus can spread to other nails, all nails in the fingers or toes depending on the area where the fungus is present, are treated.
